I moved to Somerset in 2004 after living in London and really felt like returning to my ‘art’ after years of having to fit it in around other work.
So I set up a studio at the end of the garden and started work. It was slow and very frustrating and also quite isolated.
After two years an opportunity came up to share a studio in town with a friend and I jumped at the chance.I had studied printmaking and illustration but was lucky enough to be able to dabble in ceramics and printed textiles at my college. All these media help feed each other and a technique from one can help to further your work in another. Printmaking techniques have been invaluable in my current range of ceramics and an idea from one readily flows onto the next.
